FFTF selected Kevin to develop and direct our "U Street" short film project. During the months of July-September 2008, Kevin worked with a team of volunteer students, including other young filmmakers and crew members, screenwriters, artists, actors, and actresses to develop the film. Kevin collaborated with FFTF's producers and a team of musicians and editors to wrap up post-production on "U Street" in late November. Now completed, we will submit the film for competition in a host of national and local film festivals.
FFTF's "U Street" Short Film Project represents our lifelong commitment to supporting the development and creativity of young aspiring filmmakers, like Kevin P. Simms, who reflect our mission to promote diversity in filmmaking.

"I hope to inspire people in my films by sharing and showing one's experiences and knowledge of the world. I want to inspire and lend out my eyes to the world so that others may use them in comparison or contrast to their own."
